Description In my neighborhood there used to be a huge factory belonging to OM, a very old truck company (founded 1917). Milan, Italy is an industrial city, and OM is very much a part of the history of the city, and the factory has been a landmark of this part of the city. The factory shut down at some point, and was a ruin for a long time. A few years ago the whole area was demolished and a big renovation project was created; housing and office blocks were built, with green spaces and all that.A large part of that area has been dedicated to three parks. One of them is very appropriately known as 'Industrial Memories Park' and is dedicated to the memory of the man and women that have worked in this area. They kept some machinery from the old factory and build a garden in and on and around the. From an industrial world a new world is born where iron tools mingle with nature in a new embrace.--To my utter surprise and pleasure, this picture has been chosen to represent the 'Milanouel!W' flickr group in a post on 02blog, an important blog about Milan, Italy. It has also been published on Metro, a free newspaper.
Andrea Campi, Milano, Italy Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement I am an amateur photographer passionately working on growing my skills and style. I shoot mostly film (negative and Polaroid) on a range of serious and less serious cameras, looking for the unexpected, the forgotten and the ignored.
Being a keen city dweller, my cities often play a starring role in my photography; above all Milano, Italy, where I live and work.
