Here is a ongoing collection of photos and artwork created with several heards on wild horses that live up on Caney Mountain and Blackjack Mountain in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. They are Wild Spanish Mustangs and Choctaw Indian Ponies that have been living on millions of acres of land for many years. They roam free like they were meant to be. Some of these horses are decendants of the original Choctaw Indian Ponies set free after being brougnt to this area on the Trail of Tears. Some of the Wild Mustangs have been DNA and hair folicle tested and are descendants of the first mustangs brought to America by the Spanish Conquistadors in the 1600's. They have some of the purest blood dating back to these original Mustang horses in all the United States.
