I create bold, expressive, large format, figurative oil paintings, rich in content with strong archetypal images. Mystery, Symbol, Dream, Raw Vision, Soul Food, using the body as metaphor to address the human psyche. Purpose Statement: My art is transformative, in the making and in the viewing. It is a portal into a deeper, more related, sensually and spiritually empowered self. My work affects receptive viewers, connecting them with their creativity, primal wisdom and sensual delight in life. Goal:"To utilize the profound emotional impact of art to inspire the viewer to become more actively engaged in the global struggle to reverse climate change." The Dreamers Series began in 2005. Suspended in a dream state, the figures in the Dreamers series are in various stages of cocooning and unwrapping, surrounded by abstracted ribcages. In 2015-17 I revisited my Dreamers Series with a palette change to indigo and increasingly more transparent figures. The Dreamers evolved into the Bodyscape Series in 2017-18,abstract figures that look like shifting continents.
