"Moose on Archer Vly" was inspired by a snow shoe hike around a fishing lake in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Coming across the moose prints in the snow was the first clue.... "Marafiki Wa Twiga" means giraffe friends in Swahili. I like to imagine these 3 giraffe under the Acacia tree as buddies. In "Friends of the Everglades," I've depicted various creatures who hopefully enjoy living in this unique ecosystem together! "Laughing Hyena" was painted after friends came back from a Safari with their photos. This creature reminds me of the Old Maid card game in which there was a laughing hyena card! "Happy Being Moose" is the feeling I think moose might have living in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State! "Amongst Friends" speaks to the friendships I believe barn animals develop with each other. "Baby Elly" is the kind of animal you just want to protect from harm! The Very Wild Turkey is a colorful representation of the Toms who visit our property each year, vying for the Hens!
